One of my more recent video editing opportunities involves being part of the creative team of political groups trying to change our country for the better. This is just one of dozens of videos created for Brand New Congress.

Find out more about Brand New Congress:

Brand New Congress is looking for average Americans from all political parties to run for office in 2018 and 2020 to reform out current Congress. Nominations are always welcome, as are creative volunteers.

Making Music Using the Etherpad - Synth App
I had a great time playing around with the etherpad on my new smartphone. What I liked were the lyrical notes of the melody. The app is pretty simplistic, but I thought it lent itself to a slightly eerie sound.

Upcoming in 2018: Science Fiction, Animation, Zombies, and More

Upcoming in 2018: Science Fiction, Animation, Zombies, and MoreThank you so much for visiting my blog today! This year promises to be a very exciting year with new works like my science fiction film Spiritus and Resurrection Day. Spiritus is the story of a young orphan who jouraneys to the dying exoplanet Spiritus to escape the truth about her parents. It is an exciting animated film that I hope will be done in the next few months. Resurrection Day is a graphic novel inspired zombie microfilm that I'm hoping to shoot in my attic, of all places! It will combine live action with animation. I can't seem to get away from that animation!

Recently I had an interview with "Big Words I know by Heart" here in Buffalo New York. It was an exciting episode and we chatted about everything film, music, and weird. I hope you enjoy!

Keep checking back for more great content on music, film, songwriting, opera, composition, sci-fi, and animation.

Check it out!

How and why classical musicians feel rhythm differently

Image
Rhythm is treated very differently in classical music from the sharp precision that other musics might require - it's organic and fluid. Recognizing this difference and being sensitive to the nature of rhythm itself in different contexts is important if you're trying to bridge gaps between different styles of musicianship.

I recognize also that I come off as pompous and harsh sometimes with my critiques of - the musicians who played on inside//outside's record were absolutely phenomenal and had to learn and record the music in a very short amount of time. What they did was, quite frankly, incredible, and of the highest professional standard.
