Students free for South Florida October 5th Opera Event: Libertaria The Virtual Opera

World premier screening for the world's first original machinima opera by award-winning composer Sabrina Pena Young October 5th at 3PM at Calvary United Methodist Church in Lake Worth Florida.  Students are free for this opera event ! (Bring Student ID. Rec omme n de d Age 13+) Regular tickets at $10. The event will start with a composer chat before the screening.  Libertaria: The Virtual Opera is an exciting sci-fi opera about the young teen Libertaria who escapes from a Genetics Factory and teams up with her addict father Simeon to blow up the evil reverse-aging Collective in a post-USA dystopia.  Libertaria is a 21st century opera for the Digital Age. It is an opera for the masses, combining the traditional opera style with contemporary technology in an exciting opera experience heavily influenced by technology, gaming, and machinima. The Struggle, The Opera, The Composer

As a composer I always find it interesting that often I hear the lament that classical music is dead, that opera is dying, that Western music as a whole has fallen into disarray and disrepair. Yet, the reality is that while large musical organizations have suffered during the global economic collapse, millions of classical musicians have risen from the ashes to create new works with very little in the way of support.  WORLD PREMIER OCTOBER 5TH IN SOUTH FLORIDA! Crowdsourcing, crowdfunding, twitter, technology, coding, animation, video, viral video, tweet, blog, facebook, social media, digital, virtual, second life, CGI, 3D, avatar, machinima....these are all wonderful 21st century terms that a composer like Mozart or Mahler never conceived of yet these terms are integral to the future of classical music.  Maybe I am someone that thrives "outside of the box". Getting ready for the Opera Premier

After two and a half years, the October 5th premier is coming up for Libertaria: The Virtual Opera . It will be an exciting event with a composer chat before the premier, refreshments, and of course, an exciting machinima opera like no other opera ever seen before! STUDENTS ARE FREE ! The organizers of the event have given all students (with ID) free tickets to see Libertaria: The Virtual Opera. The film is recommended for students thirteen and up.
