Learn film production basics in screenwriting, filming, sound and video editing, special fx, makeup fx, and more. Students will each take on a specific role in the short film production that will be filmed during class. The final film will be screened the last day of class. Students are encouraged to bring any camera/film equipment available to class.

CINTAS Foundation Announces 2018-19 Fellows in  Architecture & Design, Music Composition and Visual Arts Miami, October 2018 – CINTAS Foundation Board of Directors made the announcement at the annual Awards Ceremony during a special reception held October 10th at the Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami. The 2018-19 Fellowships were presented to: CINTAS Foundation Fellowship in Architecture & Design Javier Galindo CINTAS Foundation Brandon Fradd Fellowship in Music Composition Sabrina Peña Young CINTAS-Knight Foundation Fellowship in Visual Arts Tomás Esson In addition, a Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Juan A. Martínez, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of the Department of Art & Art History at Florida International University for his contributions to Cuban art and culture. Sony Alpha Female - Sabrina Pena Young - Soy Alpha

Sabrina Peña Young, the daughter of Dominican and Cuban parents and recent recipient of the Cintas Foundation Music Fellowship, grew up in South Florida during the 1980s.  Over the next several years Young explored media and music, writing music and creating zombie effects for indie B horror films, composing complex electronic media works like World Order  #5 , writing for Kalup Linzy in his film Conversations wid de churn II and studying film for a year at Florida International University in Miami where she premiered works like A Portrait of Urban Life at Art Basil Miami and Arts Miami. In 2013 the animated Libertaria: The Virtual Opera was premiered in Lake Worth, Florida, created entirely through internet collaboration. In 2014, Young gave a TED Talk at TEDxBuffalo on “Singing Geneticists and EPIC Machinima Opera”. Cintas Foundation Awards Composer Fellowship to Buffalo New York Composer Sabrina Pena Young CINTAS Foundation Fellowship Awards 2018: Congratulations to  Javier Galindo , winner of the Architecture & Design Fellowship, Sabrina Peña Young, winner of the Music Composition Fellowship, and Tomas Esson, winner of the Visual Arts Fellowship. The CINTAS Foundation Brandon Fradd Fellowship in Music Composition competition is offered annually. The winner of this Fellowship in Music Composition will be eligible to have their work, if suitable, performed as part of the New Music Miami ISCM Festival led by Orlando Jacinto Garcia and being held in 2020 at the FIU Miami Beach Urban Studios. The corresponding experience and exposure of such prestigious performances represents a highly enriched award to the winner.
