Conversations on a Bus - Performance Art Inspired by 9/11 This is an older  performance art work based on the actual conversations on the day after September 11th. Conversations were mundane, like "I would never pay that much for a hog!" or concerns like "What's going to happen to the transportation system?" to sheer disbelief at the American tragedy "Dead!" This is an example of what I would like to call "simultaneous poetry", where six different actors read out their poetic lines at the same time, in slightly structured randomness, Based on Fluxus performance art. The performance artists each carried a newspaper with their lines and wandered in and out of the audience like someone that was in a bus and intruding on each other's space, sitting next to the audience, talking to them, and just not leaving them alone. Call for scores for new Fluxus-style workbook Vengeful-WI by Sabrina Pena Young Web site:  http://www.ofmusikverlag.com/ submissions.html To launch Ochsenfrosch Musikverlag we’re asking composers to submit short fluxus-style scores to form a workbook for performance. Styled on the idea of the original Fluxus Workbook it is hoped that the new set will be as eclectic, humorous and thought-provoking as the original. The scores can be a set of text instructions, a picture, both, notes on a stave, a diagram, formula, hand-written, typed, detailed, vague, nonsensical... The size of each page (and so each individual score) will be A5 landscape. Entries should be submitted as high resolution scans. Bed-In_for_Peace,_Amsterdam_1969 During the 1960s and 1970s, experimental musicians, poets, writers, and artists discovered a new art movement: The Fluxus Movement. Nude performances, television cellos, and silent compositions became the norm of an anything but normal movement.  The Fluxus movement of the 1960s and 1070s seemed to mirror America's societal insanity by the creation of experimental art pieces which stretched the limits of art and decency. The Fluxus crew was an unlikely mix of filmmakers, poets, writers, musicians, performance artists, and actors who joined together to create a neo-Dadaist movement intent on its own destruction through anti-art and severely anti-establishment art.
