NYWC Music News – Whitney George & The Curiosity Cabinet The Wild Called Maxx: and Other Tales from the Concrete Jungle 9:30 pm  —  Wednesday  |  April 6th National Sawdust The Curiosity Cabinet is thrilled to be presenting The Wild Called Maxx: and Other Tales from the Concrete Jungle at National Sawdust  curated by  Daniel Felsenfeld . Our evening tells the story of Maxx​, a young and progressive woman, who is having trouble merging her creative identity with her lifestyle. She leaves her traditional job in the suburbs and journeys to the city. The unknown jungle of the metropolitan New York, full of monsters, is overwhelming to Maxx at first. Over time she finds ardent friends willing to help her find her creative voice. The story is told through live music written by Whitney George and performed by The Curiosity Cabinet with special bass trombone soloist Russ Zokait...

Call for scores for new Fluxus-style workbook Vengeful-WI by Sabrina Pena Young Web site:  http://www.ofmusikverlag.com/ submissions.html To launch Ochsenfrosch Musikverlag we’re asking composers to submit short fluxus-style scores to form a workbook for performance. Styled on the idea of the original Fluxus Workbook it is hoped that the new set will be as eclectic, humorous and thought-provoking as the original. The scores can be a set of text instructions, a picture, both, notes on a stave, a diagram, formula, hand-written, typed, detailed, vague, nonsensical... The size of each page (and so each individual score) will be A5 landscape. Entries should be submitted as high resolution scans.
