Miami, August 2018 – The CINTAS Foundation announces this year’s finalists for the annual CINTAS Fellowship Competition and the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. A reception and awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 10th, at the University of Miami’s Lowe Art Museum. An exhibition featuring works by each of the finalists will be on exhibit at the Lowe Art Museum beginning on Wednesday, October 3rd.
The CINTAS Foundation oversees two important art collections in the United States. The Master Paintings from the Spanish School include pieces that date back to the 16th century and Spain’s Golden Age. Among the works in the collection are Ribera’s Saint Peter (right), El Greco’s Christ Carrying the Cross and Feast in the House of Simon, Murillo’s Portrait of A Gentleman Holding A Hat, and Goya’s Admiral José de Mazarredo and Marquis de Caballero. The CINTAS Fellows Collection, on long-term loan to Miami Dade College Museum of Art & Design at the Historic Freedom Tower, is believed to be the largest gathering of Cuban exile art anywhere.
